Consular section: Monday to Friday 10.00 – 12.00 in local time, appointments only.

What the British Embassy can help with

The British Embassy in Kiev can help with the following:

  • Emergency replacement passports
  • Provide contact details of English speaking and local lawyers, medical professionals, interpreters and funeral directors
  • Provide assistance if you have suffered from crime or are currently in hospital
  • Strive to contact you within 24 hours after being informed that you have been detained by a law enforcement agency
  • In case of emergency they can contact family or friends for you
  • In cases of terrorism, civil unrest or natural disasters special and emergency arrangements can be made
  • Provide information about transferring financial funds, contacting relatives or associates so they can assist you in getting funds or a travel ticket

What the Embassy cannot help with

The Embassy cannot offer any of the following:

  • Assist you to enter the country and advise you on immigration matters, for example if you do not have a visa or your passport is not valid, we can’t interfere in Ukraine’s immigration procedures
  • Become involved in private disputes involving property, employment, commercial, industrial or any other matters
  • Interfere or attempt to interfere in the criminal or legal proceedings
  • Offer you legal advice
  • Investigate crimes in any way
  • Conduct searches for missing persons
  • Improve the level of medical care you are recieving here
  • Help you avoid serving a sentance in prison or help you to recieve a better standard in prison, they can raise concerns if your level of treatment falls below internationally recognized standards
  • Give you money
  • Make travel or business arrangements on your behalf
  • Guarantee you safety in Ukraine
  • Provide compensation
  • Offer medical advice, immunisation or treatment of any kind

Visas for Ukrainian nationals

Ukrainian nationals should not contact the Embassy with Visa enquiries, instead they can call the VFS call centre on 0 900 302 890 (6UAH per minute) or by emailing the Visa Application Centre;
